USF's Pineda, TCC's Hoekzema Collect Women's Outdoor T&F Weekly Recognition

CHICAGO --- University of St. Francis' Ana Pineda (Plainfield, Ill.) and Trinity Christian College's Abigail Hoekzema (Grand Rapids, Mich.) have claimed the latest round of Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's outdoor track & field weekly honors, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Pineda authored the fastest time in the NAIA this spring in the 5,000-meter run to net CCAC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week accolades.  She placed ninth out of 215 runners – and first among NAIA entrants – at the highly-competitive Washington University (Mo.) Distance Carnival on Thursday night.  Her 'A' standard time of 16:45.15 not only set the top NAIA mark for the year, but also established a new St. Francis record.

Hoekzema met the NCCAA standard in the high jump to garner CCAC Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week accord.  She placed third out of 10 entrants at the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warrior Invite on Thursday with her jump of four feet, 11 inches.

Other Track Nominees: Alyssa Busker (Trinity Christian), Hannah Antkoviak (Olivet Nazarene).
