First-Place Efforts Land W. T&F Honors For ONU's Brent, Robinson

CHICAGO --- Olivet Nazarene University's Kimberly Brent (Westmont, Ill.) and Madeleine Robinson (Sandwich, Ill.) both used first-place finishes during the week of April 18 to gain Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Brent, the CCAC Track Athlete of the Week, set a new school record with her time of 12.2 seconds in the 100-meter dash at the Olivet Nazarene Tiger Open on Saturday. The sophomore placed second in that event and first as part of the 4x100-meter relay team.

In the latter event, that foursome placed first, hitting the "A" mark in 47.42 seconds.

Robinson won both the shot put and hammer throw events at the same Tiger Open meet on Saturday to collect the CCAC Field Athlete of the Week accolades. She hit the "A" standard in both competitions with the hammer throw distance (176 feet, 4 inches) ranking sixth in the NAIA.

The senior had the 12th-best throw in the nation in the shot put, as well, with her distance of 44-5.5.

Other Track Nominees: Sabrina Baftiri (St. Francis).

Other Field Nominees: Annah Miller (St. Ambrose).
