Olivet Nazarene Earns Fourth Straight Women's Indoor T&F Championship

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. --- Olivet Nazarene University dominated at the 2024 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships over the weekend to claim its fourth consecutive crown.  The Tigers scored a total of 244 points, or 93 points more than their next-closest challenger.

The ONU program rang up a league-best six titles between Friday and Saturday with both University of St. Francis and Saint Xavier University next in line with four each.  The latter gained two individual crowns and both relay events (4x400 and 4x800).

Also capturing some of the 20 event titles were St. Ambrose University (three), Trinity Christian College (two) and Judson University (one). 

Saint Xavier came away with the runner-up distinction after totaling 151 points.  St. Ambrose University was a close third with 141.5 points.  The rest of the scoring in the eight-team field had St. Francis with 88 points, Trinity Christian with 52, Judson 36, Governors State University 19 and Roosevelt University 5.5.

A pair of record-setting performances earned St. Francis' Ana Pineda (Plainfield, Ill.) CCAC Outstanding Track Event Performer at the meet.  She won all three of her individual races, while placing third as part of USF's 4x800-meter relay team, which finished in 10:25.73.

Pineda broke both conference and school marks in the 800- and 1,000-meter events with times of 2:15.55 and 2:56.08, respectively.  She also won the 3,000-meter race in a time of 10:06.70.

Joining Pineda on the awards stand was Saint Xavier's Lana Musa (Orland Park, Ill.), who was recognized as the CCAC Outstanding Field Event Performer following her busy weekend.  The senior competed in the pentathlon, three other individual events and one relay over the two days.

Musa won the pentathlon by totaling 2,969 points and also placed first as part of SXU's 4x400-meter relay team, finishing in 4:01.37.  She was third in both the high jump (4 feet, 11 inches) and 60-meter hurdles (9.28 seconds) and seventh in the 400-meter dash (1:02.21), as well, en route to her 34-point weekend.

The 2024 Championships were a record-setting event with no fewer than five previous marks being erased.  Olivet Nazarene's Hannah Antkoviak (Allegan, Mich.), like Pineda, established two new marks.  She set her records in the 60-meter hurdles (8.66 seconds) and the 600-meter dash (1:31.65). 

Trinity Christian's Alyssa Busker (Plainfield, Ill.) notched the other record mark with her performance in the 200-meter dash (24.78 seconds).  

Olivet Nazarene's Kyle Rago closed out the awards ceremony by being named the CCAC Coach of the Year after leading the Tiger program to the conference crown.
