SAU's Miller, ONU's Antkoviak Recognized With Women's T&F Weekly Honors

CHICAGO --- St. Ambrose University's Annah Miller (Manito, Ill.) has captured her second Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honor, while Olivet Nazarene University's Hannah Antkoviak (Allegan, Mich.) notched her first CCAC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week recognition, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Antkoviak also claimed NAIA national honors after her busy weekend at the Grand Valley State University Big Meet on Friday and Saturday.  The sophomore produced three "A" standard marks and one "B" performance and set two school records in the process.

All of Antkoviak's efforts placed her among the top five finishers, going up against some of the top competition in the nation at both the NAIA and NCAA levels.  Highlighting the weekend was her winning the 60-meter hurdles, where she established one of her school marks with a time of 8.76 seconds and beat out 26 other challengers.  That is also the 12th-best time of the year.

She was also the third leg of the 4x400-meter relay team that notched the fastest time in the NAIA this year at 3:48.79 and placed third at the meet among 20 teams.

Antkoviak's other school record came in the 400-meter dash, where she ran a 55.51 and placed fifth out of 23 individuals.  That is the fourth-best mark in the NAIA this year.

Antkoviak's other third-place finish on the weekend came in the 200-meter dash, where her 25.17 hit the "B" standard.

Miller secured her second weekly award of the season with her efforts in the shot put and weight throw events at SAU's own Tune-Up meet.  She won the shot put among 24 competitors with a personal-best 47 feet, 0.75 inch distance.  That not only is the top effort in the CCAC this year, but also the second-best mark in the NAIA.

In the weight throw, Miller was fourth among 19 with a toss of 49 feet, 4.5 inches.

Other Track Nominees: Alyssa Busker (Trinity Christian), Katie Lambrecht (St. Ambrose), Ana Mendoza Pineda (St. Francis).

Other Field Nominees: Courtney Hall (Olivet Nazarene), Alyssa Horstman (Trinity Christian).
