Delgado, Agugua Help Saint Xavier Sweep Women's Indoor Track & Field Weekly Honors

CHICAGO --- Top 3 finishes from Delilah Delgado (East Chicago, Ind.) and Precious Agugua (Frisco, Texas) have earned Saint Xavier University a sweep of the latest round of Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Delgado was named the CCAC Track Athlete of the Week for her performances during the week ending Feb. 5.  The senior won the 1,000-meter event, while also placing third out of 31 individuals in the 800-meter race at the Olivet Nazarene University Walter Cramer Invite on Saturday.

Delgado set PR's in both events, finishing nine seconds ahead of her next-closest challenger in the 10-person 1,000-meter field with a time of 3:09.52.  The victory marked the first time an SXU runner won that particular race since February, 2016.

Her time in the 800 was 2:27.21.

Agugua, meanwhile, used a "B" standard mark in the weight throw to claim CCAC Field Athlete of the Week recognition.  She placed third out of 20 individuals with a distance of 52 feet, 8.25 inches.

Other Track Nominees: Alyssa Brusker (Trinity Christian), Gabbi Butler (St. Ambrose), Courtney Hall (Olivet Nazarene).

Other Field Nominees: Ryleigh Warden (St. Ambrose).
