CHICAGO --- Viterbo University's Rachel Kinney (Appleton, Wis.) and Veerle Vriens (Roosendaal, Netherlands) have earned the final Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week awards for 2023 after advancing the V-Hawks to the semifinal round of the CCAC Tournament, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Kinney was named the CCAC Offensive Player of the Week after the junior midfielder recorded the final goal in the shootout round against No. 2-seeded Trinity Christian College on Friday.  The shootout went four rounds with No. 7 seed Viterbo outscoring the Trolls 3-1 after the two teams tied 1-1 through the second overtime.

Vriens proved to be a wall on defense en route to CCAC Defensive Player of the Week accord.  Besides stopping three of four shots in the shootout, the graduate student also totaled nine saves during the contest, while allowing one goal.

Viterbo finished its season at 7-6-6 after falling in the CCAC Tournament semifinal round on Tuesday.
