USF's Flores, SAU's Latham Key Pair of League Wins, Land Conference Weekly Honors

CHICAGO --- Two game-winning goals from University of St. Francis' Kelly Flores (Hanover Park, Ill.) and St. Ambrose University's Adriane Latham (Eldridge, Iowa) keying a pair of shutouts during the seven-day period ending Oct. 15 have earned the pair Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week accord.  The league office made the announcement on Tuesday.

Flores accounted for two of her team's three goals on the week to collect CCAC Offensive Player of the Week recognition.  The sophomore midfielder produced the first goal in a 2-0 win over Indiana University Northwest last Wednesday before providing the only score in a 1-0 victory opposite Roosevelt University on Saturday.

Flores has now scored one goal in each of the team's last four matches to coincide with USF's season-high four-game winning streak.

Unbeaten in their last eight games, the Saints are 5-5-5 overall and 5-1-3 against league competition.

Latham notched CCAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades after helping move St. Ambrose into the top spot in the league standings with its two shutout wins.

The senior defender keyed a backline that permitted just two shots on goal in a 3-0 victory against Roosevelt last Wednesday followed by allowing only five shots on target in a 1-0 win over Trinity Christian College on Saturday.

St. Ambrose now mans the top position in the conference at 7-1.  Overall, the Fighting Bees are 9-4.
