SAU's Brunson, ONU's Randall Gain Women's Soccer Weekly Honors For Second Time

CHICAGO --- St. Ambrose University's Kaitlyn Brunson (Marion, Iowa) and Olivet Nazarene University's Meegan Randall (Republic, Mo.) both claimed their second Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer weekly honor for their efforts during the seven-day period ending Oct. 8, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Brunson captured her second CCAC Offensive Player of the Week award with her three goals and two assists in a pair of games.  She authored her second hat trick of the season with her three-goal, one-assist match in an 11-0 victory over Holy Cross College on Saturday.

Four days earlier, the junior midfielder contributed an assist in the Fighting Bees' 2-1 nod over Indiana University Northwest.

With the two victories, St. Ambrose remained in reach of first place in the league standings at 5-1.  That puts the Fighting Bees one point off the pace of league leaders Olivet Nazarene and Trinity Christian College.  Overall, SAU is 7-4.

Randall earned CCAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades after playing a role in each of two Olivet Nazarene shutouts last week.  The freshman goalkeeper played the final 45 minutes of the Tigers' 2-0 win over Holy Cross College last Tuesday.  She then recorded three saves over 90 minutes in ONU's 1-0 decision over Roosevelt University on Saturday.

For the season, Randall is 5-1-3 in net.

For the Tigers on the whole, they are 6-2-3 overall and 5-0-1 in league matchups.

Other Offensive Nominees: Nyah Bejarano (Roosevelt), Demi Scibetta (Trinity Christian), Morgan Bean (Governors State), Jenna Bennett (Viterbo).

Other Defensive Nominees: Zoe Villont (St. Francis), Adriane Latham (St. Ambrose), Molly Ripley (Viterbo), Michelle Urribarri (Trinity Christian).
