SAU's Thole Uses Pair of Double-Doubles To Earn Final Women's Basketball Weekly Award

CHICAGO --- St. Ambrose University's Caitlyn Thole (Princeville, Ill.) has claimed the final Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week award for the 2023-24 season, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Thole garnered the recognition after recording a pair of double-doubles during the week of Feb. 19-25.  Her averages during that stretch included 19.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per contest, while shooting 57.7 percent from the field (15-of-26) and 71.4 percent from the foul line (5-of-7).

The sophomore guard's best game of the week came on Saturday when she totaled 21 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals in a 72-52 decision over Trinity Christian College.  Three days earlier, she collected 18 points, 10 caroms and two assists in a 76-65 setback to Saint Xavier University.

St. Ambrose completed its season at 7-18 overall and 7-13 in league affairs.
