Big Scoring Day Nets IUNW's Carrothers Weekly Women's Basketball Accolades

CHICAGO --- A 35-point scoring afternoon from Jessica Carrothers (Crown Point, Ind.) has earned the Indiana University Northwest product Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week accord for the seven-day period ending Jan.7, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Carrothers did her damage in an 85-74 win over Olivet Nazarene University on Saturday, where she recorded a double-double by matching her point total up with ten assists.  The sophomore guard hit on 14 of her 22 shots from the field, including both three-pointers, and five of her six free throws.  She also produced five rebounds and four steals.

The contest was the only one of the week for the RedHawks, who are 8-6 overall and 4-2 against conference competition.
