Big Game Against Ranked Foe Earns SAU's Wolter Women's Basketball Weekly Accord

CHICAGO --- A strong effort against NAIA No. 4-ranked Clarke University (Iowa) has earned St. Ambrose University's Abby Wolter (Keokuk, Iowa) Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week distinction for the seven-day period ending Dec. 24, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Wolter totaled 26 points, seven rebounds, three assists and one block, while shooting 11-of-15 from the field, including making both of her three-point attempts, in a 90-78 setback to Clarke on Friday night.  The sophomore forward also recorded 11 points, three rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block in a 66-65 loss to Viterbo University (Wis.) last Tuesday.

For the two games combined, Wolter averaged 18.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks for the two games.  She also shot 60.9 percent from the field.

Among CCAC leaders, Wolter ranks fifth in scoring at 15.9 points per game.

St. Ambrose is 2-3 in league contests and 2-8 overall on the season.
