Sweep of First-Place Finishes Result In Men's T&F Weekly Accolades For ONU's Giuliano, SXU's Arokoyo

CHICAGO --- A sweep of first-place finishes in all of their respective events during the seven-day period ending April 14 have earned Olivet Nazarene University's Vince Giuliano (Concord, Mich.) and Saint Xavier University's Ayobami Arokoyo (Schaumburg, Ill.) Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's outdoor track & field athlete of the week honors.  The league office made the announcement on Wednesday morning.

For Arokoyo, it is his second straight and third overall CCAC Field Athlete of the Week award this spring.  The junior won both his discus and shot put events at the Olivet Nazarene Tiger Open on Saturday, the former with another NAIA top distance for the year at 183 feet, 2 inches.  He defeated 34 other challengers in that event.

Arokoyo also bested the field of 35 other individuals in the shot put, where he hit the NAIA "B" standard with his distance of 51 feet, 8.5 inches.

Giuliano captured CCAC Track Athlete of the Week accord after claiming victory in two events and being a part of a winning relay squad at the same Tiger Open.  The senior recorded two NAIA Top 5 times in the 200- and 400-meter dashes with his "A" marks.

Giuliano registered the third-fastest time in the NAIA this year in the 200-meter dash (20.97), while gaining the fifth-fastest mark in the 400 (47.29).  The 4x100-meter relay team, meanwhile, hit the "B" standard at 41.24 seconds.
