Pair of First-Place Finishes Produce Men's Outdoor T&F Weekly Awards Sweep For TCC

CHICAGO --- First-place finishes from Kyran Thurmond and Ivan Emde (Plainwell, Mich.) during the seven-day period ending March 31 have earned a sweep of this week's Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's outdoor track & field awards for Trinity Christian College, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Thurmond was named the CCAC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week after clocking in at 50.77 seconds in the 400-meter dash at the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warrior Invite on Thursday.  That time, which placed him first out of six racers, is the fastest time in the CCAC this year.

Setting a new school record in the pole vault enabled Emde to gain CCAC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week recognition.  He won the event at the Warrior Invite with his height of 13 feet, 11.25 inches defeating five other challengers.
