SAU Gains Second Sweep of the Outdoor Men's T&F Season

CHICAGO --- For the second time this spring, the efforts of Will Reemtsma (Davenport, Iowa) and Mick Saloninas (Downers Grove, Ill.) have earned St. Ambrose University a sweep of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track & Field weekly awards. The league office made the announcement on Wednesday.

Reemtsma gained the CCAC Track Athlete of the Week recognition for the second time after finishing among the Top 3 in four separate events at the Augustana College Meet of Champions on Saturday. The highlight was his first-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles, which was an "A" standard mark. His time of 52.37 seconds is the fifth fastest in the NAIA this year.

The junior also hit the "B" mark in the 110-meter hurdles with his 14.8-second finish. In the preliminaries, he set a personal record with his time of 14.77 seconds.

Reemtsma also teamed up to place third in both the 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relays with times of 42.35 seconds and 3:20.09, respectively.

Saloninas posted a pair of "A" marks on Saturday en route to collecting his third CCAC Field Athlete of the Week award this spring. He won both the shot put and discus events with his 54 feet, 5.25 distance in the former now ranking 11th best in the nation.

The junior captured the discus event after covering 165-8 with his throw.
