ONU's Giuliano, SAU's Saloninas Claim Men's T&F Weekly Honors

CHICAGO --- First-place efforts from Olivet Nazarene University's Vince Giuliano (Concord, Mich.) and St. Ambrose University's Mick Saloninas (Downers Grove, Ill.) have earned the pair Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors, respectively, for their accomplishments during the seven-day period ending Jan. 23, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Giuliano landed the top spot in both the 200-meter dash and as part of ONU's 4x400-meter relay team at St. Ambrose's Bumble Rumble on Friday to garner the track award. He also placed fourth in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.06 seconds.

The sophomore bested 65 other individuals in the 200-meter dash with his time of 22.33 seconds, which earned him a "B" standard rating. His relay team out-performed 19 other teams to win their race, finishing in a time of 3:29.14.

Saloninas repeated as the CCAC Field Athlete of the Week after topping 34 other challengers in the shot put event at the Bumble Rumble with a school record-setting performance. The junior hit the "A" standard with his throw of 55 feet, 1.5 inches, which currently ranks him fourth in the NAIA.
