CHICAGO --- St. Ambrose University has swept the first round of men's indoor track & field honors for the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference following the performances of Will Reemtsma (Davenport, Iowa) and Mick Saloninas (Downers Grove, Ill.) during the seven-day period ending Jan. 16, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Reemtsma was named the CCAC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week after winning the 400-meter dash and placing sixth in the 200-meter dash at the Bees' own Battle In The Hive on Saturday. The junior hit the "B" standard mark in the 400-meter dash with his time of 49.94. He delivered a time of 22.95 seconds in the 200-meter dash.

Reemtsma's time in the 400-meter event is the top mark in the league and the tenth-best time in the NAIA this winter.

Saloninas gained CCAC Indoor Field Athlete of the Week accord after claiming the individual title in the shot put event at the Battle In The Hive. The junior used an "A" standard mark of 54 feet, 5.5 inches to gain the crown. The effort also currently sits as the best mark in the CCAC and the fourth-best effort in the NAIA this year.

The three combined performances helped St. Ambrose earn a third-place finish at the meet.
