SAU's Mottet Repeats, Reemtsma Claims First Men's Indoor Track & Field Weekly Honor

CHICAGO --- Leading their team to a meet title on Saturday, St. Ambrose University's Will Reemtsma (Davenport, Iowa) and Josh Mottet (East Moline, Ill.) have been named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for the seven-day period ending Jan. 28, the league office announced on Thursday.  For Mottet, it marks the second week in a row that he was chosen.

Reemtsma broke a pair of school records in two of the three events he competed in on Saturday.  En route to winning the 600-meter dash, he ran the second-fastest time in the NAIA this year with his 1:19.52 mark, which met the 'A' standard.  That time was just shy of one second better than the previous SAU record.

The graduate student also set the school mark in the preliminary round of the 60-meter hurdles with his time of 8.28 seconds qualifying as a 'B' mark.  He then closed out the day by anchoring the 4x400-meter relay squad, which also ran a 'B' time of 3:22.43 to finish second.

As for Mottet, he re-established the school record in the pole vault that he had just set one week earlier, going as high as 15 feet, nine inches.  That placed him second at the meet and earned him an 'A' standard rating.

St. Ambrose captured its own Fighting Bee Invitational by totaling 133.5 points.

Other Track Nominees: David Olmos (Olivet Nazarene), Isaac Sytsma (Saint Xavier), Camren Carter (Judson), Milos Pendic (Trinity Christian).

Other Field Nominees: Quinton Boyd (Trinity Christian), Brody Vollrath (Olivet Nazarene), Ayobami Arokoyo (Saint Xavier).
