"A" Marks Lead To Athlete of the Week Honors For ONU's Giuliano, SAU's Wilson

CHICAGO --- "A" standard performances from Olivet Nazarene University's Vince Giuliano (Concord, Mich.) and St. Ambrose University's Jonah Wilson (Riverdale, Iowa) have earned the pair Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week recognition for the seven-day period ending Feb. 12, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Giuliano had his top marks in the 200- and 400-meter dashes at the Grand Valley State University Big Meet on Friday to gain CCAC Track Athlete of the Week accord for the second time this season.  Facing some of the top competition at the NCAA and NAIA levels, the junior placed third out of 22 individuals in the 200-meter dash and fifth out of 22 in the 400.

Giuliano ran a time of 21.33 seconds in the 200, which is the fifth-best time in the NAIA this year.  His 400 time of 48.16 seconds tied a school record and is the eighth-fastest time in the nation.

Wilson set a personal record en route to his "A" mark and eventual CCAC Field Athlete of the Week award.  His throw of 54 feet, 10 inches won the St. Ambrose Tune-Up on Friday and is the second-best throw in the conference and seventh-best in the NAIA this year.
