ONU's Sears Repeats, SAU's Reemtsma Collects First Weekly Indoor Track & Field Honor

CHICAGO --- Olivet Nazarene University's Noah Sears (Elkhart, Ind.) has claimed Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honors for the second straight time, while St. Ambrose University's Will Reemtsma (Davenport, Iowa) has garnered the league's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week distinction, the league office announced on Wednesday.

For the second week in a row, Sears cleared 15 feet, 1 inch – an NAIA "A" standard mark – in the pole vault to win the event at ONU's own Walter Cramer Invite on Saturday.  That height ranks fifth in the nation.

Reemtsma was kept quite busy on Saturday at the Northwest Missouri State University Bearcat Invite competing in no fewer than four events and setting a pair of school records in the process.

The senior won the 24-person 600-meter dash in a record-setting time of 1:11.78, which met the "A" standard mark for the NAIA.  He was also part of the record-setting distance medley relay team, which earned an "A" time of 10:14.82 and placed sixth out of 12 squads.

Reemtsma also hit the "B" mark in the 60-meter hurdles, where he placed sixth out of 23 competitors in a time of 48.43 seconds.  His other competition was the 400-meter dash, where he placed third among 63 challengers, crossing the finish line in 48.43 seconds.

Other Track Nominees: Max Grant (Olivet Nazarene), Sean Harris (Saint Xavier), Milos Pendic (Trinity Christian).

Other Field Nominees: Nick Alvarez (St. Ambrose), Quinton Boyd (Trinity Christian), Jonah Wilson (St. Ambrose).
