Holy Cross Claims Second Straight Men's Tennis Tournament Crown
NOTRE DAME, Ind. --- For the second year in a row, Holy Cross College has claimed the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Tournament title following its 4-0 victory over Judson University on Friday night at the Eck Tennis Pavilion.
The regular-season champions, as well, the Saints (12-3) gained their first point with a pair of wins in doubles play. Luca McManus and Adam Singleton teamed up for a 6-0 victory in the No. 3 spot with Ciaran McCarthy and Oscar Wai winning 6-1 in the No. 2 slot.
In singles play, Perry Gregg won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 1, Wai collected a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 2 and Polis Koursaros earned a 6-3, 6-4 decision in the No. 6 slot.
With the win, the NAIA No. 22-ranked Saints gain an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament, which will run May 14-18 in Mobile, Alabama.
