Judson's Veltkamp Repeats As Men's Tennis Player of the Week
CHICAGO --- A second straight perfect 4-0 seven-day stretch has earned Judson University's Alexandre Veltkamp (Streamwood, Ill.) back-to-back Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week accord, the league office announced on Wednesday morning.
Veltkamp won both his No. 1 singles and No. 3 doubles matches against Olivet Nazarene University by 6-2, 6-4 and 7-5 counts, respectively, last Tuesday. Then, on Saturday, the senior collected a 6-2, 6-1 No. 1 singles win and a 6-0 victory at No. 2 doubles against University of St. Francis.
In each of his doubles matches, Veltkamp was teamed with Chadd Kerrigan.
As a team, Judson also landed a perfect record (2-0) last week, enabling the Eagles to finish above. 500 overall (9-8) for the regular season and 4-1 in the league. They have won each of their last four matches.
