Roosevelt's Drojan Selected As Men's Tennis Player of the Week
CHICAGO --- A big win over a NCAA I program has earned Roosevelt University's Victor Drojan (Chicago, Ill.) Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week honors, the league office announced Wednesday afternoon.
Drojan went 2-1 in singles action and 1-2 on the doubles side with all three victories coming against NCAA competition. The freshman clinched the deciding point in the Lakers' 4-3 win against NCAA I Chicago State University last Tuesday when he earned a 6-2, 6-4 victory in the No. 3 singles slot.
Drojan's other singles win came at No. 4 against Augustana College on Saturday, where he earned a 6-1, 6-2 decision. He also won 8-5 at No. 1 doubles with teammate Felipe Penuela en route to the team's 8-1 victory.
Roosevelt is 6-3 on the campaign after going 2-1 this past week.
