Trinity Christian Sweeps Men's Soccer Weekly Awards For Second Time This Season

CHICAGO --- For the second time this season, Trinity Christian College boasts both the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday morning.  Ivan Perez (La Rioja, Spain) gained the offensive nod, while Giorgos Christodoulou (Frennaros, Cyprus) claimed the defensive recognition for their play during the seven-day period ending Sept. 15.

Perez played a role in each of the two goals scored by the Trolls in their 2-0 victory over Missouri Baptist University on Saturday.  The junior midfielder authored a goal and one assist in the contest, which was Trinity Christian's only match of the week.

Christodoulou recorded his second shutout of the campaign among his three starts this season.  The senior goalkeeper stopped four shots on the day.

Missouri Baptist came into the contest among others receiving votes in the latest NAIA Coaches' Poll.

Trinity Christian is now 6-1 on the season.

Other Offensive Nominees: Cesar Lopez (Indiana Northwest), Nicolas Lopez (Viterbo), Juan Perez (Holy Cross).

Other Defensive Nominees: Ernesto Ascenzo (Viterbo), Sebastian Grimm (Holy Cross).
