Men's Soccer All-Academic Team Named

CHICAGO --- A total of 79 student-athletes representing each of the 12 member schools sponsoring men's soccer were honored on Thursday afternoon when the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2023 Men's Soccer All-Academic Team.

Of the 12 schools, four boasted double-figure recipients led by St. Ambrose University with 11 selections.  Roosevelt University, Trinity Christian College and University of St. Francis were all one behind with 10 honorees each.

Securing six student-athletes on the team each were Governors State University, Holy Cross College and Saint Xavier University, with Indiana University Northwest, Olivet Nazarene University and Viterbo University having five awardees each.

Rounding out the list were four student-athletes from Judson University and one from Calumet College of St. Joseph.

Three members of the team turned in perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point averages, while 31 were on the squad one year ago.  Of that list, seven were named for the third year in a row and three for the fourth time.

To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must have been enrolled at his respective CCAC school for a minimum of one academic year, have completed at least 30 semester hours and boast no less than a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
