IUNW's Bixeman, SXU's Zamora Earn Men's Soccer Weekly Accord

CHICAGO --- A 12-point week from Indiana University Northwest's Dom Bixeman (Crown Point, Ind.) and a pair of shutouts authored by Saint Xavier University's Andres Zamora (Cicero, Ill.) have earned the pair Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week accord, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Bixeman totaled five goals and one assist in two matches played over the seven-day period beginning Sept. 4 to capture CCAC Offensive Player of the Week honors.  The sophomore forward was a perfect 5-for-5 in shots on goal.

Bixeman scored three of the RedHawks' five goals, including the game-winner, in their 5-0 decision over Andrews University (Mich.) last Tuesday.  Three days later, he played a role in each of the team's three goals in their 3-2 victory opposite Indiana University Purdue University Columbus with two goals and one assist.

The perfect week put Indiana Northwest at 2-1-1 on the season.

Zamora played stingy in earning CCAC Defensive Player of the Week recognition.  He did not allow a goal in either of Saint Xavier's two contests last week, stopping 12 shots total.

The senior goalkeeper produced five saves in the Cougars' 1-0 win over Taylor University (Ind.) on Wednesday before recording seven saves in a 0-0 tie with Campbellsville University (Ky.) on Saturday.

Saint Xavier remained undefeated on the season at 2-0-4.

Other Offensive Nominees: Inigo Capellan (Judson), Pablo Rubio Guerra (St. Francis), Dorian Mahone (Saint Xavier), Sergio Reyes (Calumet St. Joseph).

Other Defensive Nominees: Giorgos Christodoulou (Trinity Christian).
