Perez, Christodoulou Enable Trinity Christian To Sweep Men's Soccer Weekly Awards

CHICAGO --- Trinity Christian College has swept the first round of Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week awards for 2023 following the performances of Ivan Perez (La Rioja, Spain) and Giorgos Christodoulou (Frennaros, Cyprus), the league office announced on Tuesday.

Perez totaled three goals in two Troll wins en route to CCAC Offensive Player of the Week honors.  The sophomore midfielder authored both of his team's goals in a 2-1 win versus Taylor University (Ind.) last Tuesday before adding his third goal in a 3-1 victory opposite Northwestern College (Iowa) on Saturday.

Christodoulou accounted for the two wins in goal via his nine total saves to capture CCAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades.  The junior goalkeeper stopped three shots in the Taylor match and doubled that count against Northwestern.

The two wins kept Trinity Christian unbeaten at 2-0-1 on the season.

Other Offensive Nominees: Isaac Filippo (Holy Cross), Irving Moreno (Saint Xavier), Santiago Tellez (Viterbo).

Other Defensive Nominees: Dominik Strzepka (Roosevelt), Ernesto Ascenzo (Viterbo), Osvaldo Ramirez (Saint Xavier).
