St. Ambrose's Stoetzel Earns Men's Golfer of the Week Distinction

CHICAGO --- Averaging a 74.5-per-stroke average over four rounds during the seven-day period ending April 21, St. Ambrose University's Jacob Stoetzel (Mokena, Ill.) has been named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, the league office announced on Wednesday. 

Stoetzel opened last week earning a runner-up finish at the Loras College Duhawk Invitational last Monday.  There, he shot identical rounds of 73 and 73 among a field of 72 competitors.

Two days later, the freshman shot both a 77 and a 75 at The Verhille Invitational to finish in a tie for 12th place in another 72-person field.

As a team, St. Ambrose placed sixth out of 13 schools competing in last Monday's meet and fourth among 12 squads at The Verhille Invitational.
