IUSB's Barney Remains On A Tear With Third Men's Basketball Honor In Four Weeks

CHICAGO --- Indiana University South Bend's Dejon Barney (South Bend, Ind.) continued his hot tear during the seven-day period ending Feb. 4., claiming Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for the third time in the last four weeks and the fourth time overall this season, the league office announced on Tuesday morning.

Barney continued to score at an incredible pace (25.0 points per game) courtesy of his strong shooting touch (.667), while also producing two double-doubles with his 11.5 boards per outing in a pair of wins for the Titans last week.

Barney totaled 29 points on 12-of-20 shooting and 14 boards in an 82-73 victory over University of St. Francis last Wednesday.  The senior forward then converted on 10-of-13 shot attempts for 21 points in an 89-74 win opposite Governors State University on Saturday.  In the latter affair, he also just missed out on his 12th double-double of the season, finishing with nine caroms.

Barney, who has led his team to marks of 16-6 overall and 11-3 in CCAC play, leads the league in rebounding (10.0 rpg), while ranking fourth in scoring (18.3 ppg).  He is also second in blocked shots (33) and third in field goal percentage (.575).
