CHICAGO --- Indiana University South Bend's Dejon Barney (South Bend, Ind.) has secured his second Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week honor for the 2023-24 season, the league office announced on Wednesday morning.

Barney achieved the feat for the seven-day period ending Jan. 14 by averaging a double-double over a pair of contests last week.  The senior forward averaged 18.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 4.0 blocks and 2.0 assists per game.

Barney started off the week by totaling 18 points, nine rebounds, four blocks and two steals in a 90-78 setback to Saint Xavier University last Wednesday.  That was followed by a 19-point, 13-rebound, four-block, three-assist performance opposite St. Ambrose University in a 75-71 loss on Sunday.

Barney leads the league in rebounding (9.4 rpg), while ranking second in blocks (28) and tied for fourth in scoring (16.6 ppg).

The pair of setbacks were the first two for Indiana South Bend during the league season.  The Titans are 11-5 overall and 6-2 in the conference.
