JU's Angelo, RU's Morales Selected As Baseball Weekly Award Winners
CHICAGO --- A three-home run week for Judson University's Jake Angelo (Yorkville, Ill.) and a complete-game shutout by Roosevelt University's Angel Morales (Chicago, Ill.) have earned the pair Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Player and Pitcher of the Week accord, respectively, for the seven-day period ending March 10, the league office announced on Tuesday morning.
Angelo hit his three home runs in a doubleheader sweep of Maranatha Baptist University (Wis.) on Saturday. The senior first baseman/designated hitter collected hits in all but one of his eight at-bats, going 7-for-8 with two runs scored and ten runs batted in. Morales tossed his shutout last Tuesday in a 1-0 victory over Northwestern College (Iowa) down in Florida. The junior righthander scattered four hits in the seven-inning affair.
