Champions of Character Year in Review - IU South Bend

2018-19 marked another successful year for IU South Bend student-athletes and their involvement in community service projects.

Here are some of this year's highlights:

  • Men's and women's tennis partnered with the SB Racquet Club to sponsor the "Buddy Up" tennis program working with Down's Syndrome children and adults.
  • Softball put on a free two hour clinic at a local high school.
  • Baseball was involved in multiple activities including volunteering at The Food Bank of Northern Indiana, cleaning and painting at a middle school baseball field, and visiting elementary schools, reading to different grade levels.
  • Women's basketball worked with Team IMPACT, a non-profit chartered to improve the quality of life for children facing life-threatening and chronic illnesses through the power of team.
  • Men's basketball also visited local elementary schools and spent time reading to the children.

IU South Bend continues to embrace the Champions of Character initiative and is looking forward to another great year in 2019-20!
