League Champion St. Ambrose Headlines Women's Soccer Academic Honor Roll

CHICAGO --- St. Ambrose University's women's soccer team proved to be a champion on the field and in the classroom as the Fighting Bees' program gained the most all-academic team selections in the sport when the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2024 honor roll on Monday morning.

Both the regular-season and tournament champion, St. Ambrose totaled 26 all-academic honorees with Trinity Christian College being the only other program to earn at least 20 selections.  The Trolls' program had 21 individuals recognized.

Olivet Nazarene University was next in line with 16 awardees, followed by Holy Cross College and Viterbo University with nine each.  Claiming eight spots each were Saint Xavier University and University of St. Francis, while Indiana University South Bend and Judson University gained seven selections each.

The rest of the list had six individuals from both Calumet College of St. Joseph and Governors State University and five from Indiana University Northwest.

Among the list of 128 total awardees, 13 amassed perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point averages.  Fifty-four names were on the list one year ago with 31 of those being repeat choices, 21 gaining the distinction for the third time and a pair of student-athletes recognized for the fourth time.

To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must have been enrolled at her respective CCAC school for a minimum of one academic year, have completed at least 30 semester hours and boast no less than a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
