SAU's Brunson, ONU's Randall Secure Final Women's Soccer Weekly Awards For 2024

CHICAGO --- Four goals from St. Ambrose University's Kaitlyn Brunson (Marion, Iowa) and a pair of shutouts by Olivet Nazarene University's Meegan Randall (Republic, MO.) have earned the pair the final Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer weekly awards for 2024, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Brunson claimed her second CCAC Offensive Player of the Week recognition after delivering a pair of two-goal games during the seven-day period ending Nov. 3.  The senior midfielder produced both goals in the Fighting Bees' 2-0 victory over Viterbo University last Tuesday.  She then helped St. Ambrose lock up its second straight league title with an 8-0 victory over Governors State University.

Brunson ranks first in the conference in all four offensive categories with her 13 goals, seven assists, 33 points and five game-winning goals.

Winners of eight straight matches, the Bees are 11-5-2 overall and finished the conference season at 9-2.

Randall staked her claim to CCAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades after notching a pair of 1-0 shutouts with five saves.  The sophomore goalkeeper stopped four shots in a win over Trinity Christian College last Tuesday before recording one save in a victory over Viterbo on Saturday.

The shutouts gave Randall four of the complete-game variety and lowered her goals-against average to 0.95.  That figure ranks her second in the conference, while her .813 save percentage is third.

Olivet Nazarene finished second in the league race at 7-0-4.  Overall, the Tigers are 7-4-6.

Other Offensive Nominees: Melea Miller (Olivet Nazarene), Zoey Wells (Indiana Northwest), Cameron Fallacara (Holy Cross), Payton Siragusa (Judson), Samantha Wind (Trinity Christian).

Other Defensive Nominees: Eva Fernandez (Judson), Jocelyn Chang-Stroman (Indiana Northwest), Grace Kuchar (St. Ambrose), Yamileet Mateo (Holy Cross), Michelle Urribarri (Trinity Christian), Veerle Vriens (Viterbo).
