Women's Soccer Weekly Awards Claimed By HCC's Agee, VU's Karweick
CHICAGO --- Holy Cross College's Madeleine Agee (Houston, Tex.) made her way back to the awards stand, while Viterbo University's Kelcie Karweick (Black Creek, Wis.) joined her on stage for the first time when the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its weekly women's soccer winners on Tuesday.
Karweick captured CCAC Offensive Player of the Week accord after delivering two goals, including a game-winner, during the seven-day period ending Oct. 27. The junior midfielder's winning tally was the lone goal scored in a 1-0 victory versus University of St. Francis (Ill.) on Saturday. Her other goal came in a 4-2 setback to Bellevue University (Neb.) last Tuesday.
Viterbo is now 8-6-1 overall and 5-3-1 in CCAC play following its 1-1 week.
Agee earned her second CCAC Defensive Player of the Week award after stopping 11 shots and allowing just one goal over a two-game span. The freshman recorded four saves in a 1-1 tie with Judson University last Wednesday before posting her fifth shutout of the season with seven saves in a 1-0 nod over Trinity Christian College on Saturday.
Agee's performances lifted her save percentage up to .814 on the season, which places her second in the league.
