All-Academic Team Named For Women's Basketball

CHICAGO --- No less than nine teams boasted at least five individuals on the 2024-25 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Basketball All-Academic Team when it was announced Wednesday morning by the league office.

Leading the way with nine selections was Saint Xavier University, while Holy Cross College, Trinity Christian College and Viterbo University all gained runner-up accord with seven honorees each.  Right behind that crew were six representatives each from Olivet Nazarene University, St. Ambrose University and University of St. Francis.

The rest of the 67-player contingent was made up of five individuals from both Indiana University South Bend and Judson University, four each from Governors State University and Indiana University Northwest and one from Calumet College of St. Joseph.

Thirty-four of the individuals recognized were on the squad one year ago with 21 being repeat selections, 12 being honored for the third straight year and one gaining the award for the fourth time.  Four individuals also turned in perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point averages.  

To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must have been enrolled at her respective CCAC school for a minimum of one academic year, have completed at least 30 semester hours and boast no less than a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
