
USF's Reif Gains Men's CC Weekly Honors Following First Race of the Year
CHICAGO --- Running his first race of the season, University of St. Francis' Michael Reif (Oak Forest, Ill.) came away earning Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week accolades for his performance during the seven-day period ending Sept. 22. The league office made the announcement on Wednesday.
Competing in the prestigious University of Notre Dame National Catholic Invite on Friday, Reif ran a 25:41.9 over the 8K course. That placed him 47th out of 155 runners representing eight NCAA I and two NCAA II schools. St. Francis was the only NAIA school that competed.
As a team, the Saints finished right in the middle of the pack at sixth among 11 schools.
