NAIA Ranked St. Francis Gains Favorite Status At CCAC Cross Country Championships

VALPARAISO, Ind. --- The 2023 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's & Women's Cross Country Championships will take place on Saturday morning at Sunset Hill Farm County Park with a total of ten teams per gender competing for the right to go the NAIA National Championships.

University of St. Francis is favored in both races with the women's team being ranked ninth in the NAIA and the men's program sitting at No. 13.  The USF women have claimed each of the last eight titles, while the men's team is seeking its fifth crown in a row and eighth in the last nine championship meets.

Olivet Nazarene represents the biggest threat to depose both St. Francis teams.  The Tigers are ranked No. 24 in the nation on the women's side and receiving votes in the men's poll.

The men's 8K race begins at 11 am with the women's 6K race to follow at 11:45 am.

Saturday's championship teams gain the conference's automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships, which will be run in Fort Vancouver, Wash. on Nov. 17.
