GSU School Record Time Nets Weekly Men's Cross Country Honors For Armendarez

CHICAGO --- A school-record time has earned Governors State University's Brandon Armendarez (Chicago, Ill.) Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week distinction, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Armendarez placed 12th among a field of 182 runners at the Bethel University (Ind.) Invitational on Friday.  The junior's time of 25:49 on the 8K course also established a new school record for the Jaguar program.

As a team, Governors State finished sixth out of 16 squads competing.
