Saint Xavier's Sytsma Takes Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week Honors

CHICAGO --- Recording one of the fastest times in Saint Xavier University history, Isaac Sytsma (Highland, Ind.) was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week on Wednesday by the league office.

Going up against a field that featured three NAIA teams ranked among the Top 15 in the nation, Sytsma ran a 25:15.8 over the 8K distance at the Indiana Wesleyan University Twilight Invite on Friday.  That placed the junior tenth in a field of 196 runners and was the ninth-fastest time in program history.

The race was Sytsma's first as a Cougar.

As a team, Saint Xavier placed 11th among 15 participating schools.
