
SXU Continues Its Men's Volleyball Weekly Awards Dominance
CHICAGO --- NAIA No.2-ranked Saint Xavier University continued its unbeaten run through the 2025 season by registering its fourth sweep of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's volleyball weekly honors for the 2025 season. Recognized were multi-time winners Caydann Cox (Jamestown, N. Dak.), Andres Velez (Toa Baja, Puerto Rico) and Cameron Daniels (Omaha, Neb.).
Cox collected his third CCAC Attacker of the Week award after averaging 4.3 kills per set and hitting at a .452 clip. His other numbers included a 3.00 digs-per-set average, 50 receptions without an error, eight service aces and five blocks.
The sophomore outside hitter authored a double-double (18 kills, 10 digs) in a three-set victory over Lourdes University (Ohio) on Saturday. Later that same day, he produced eight kills without an error in 17 chances (.471) and ten more digs in another three-set decision over Viterbo University. In both contests, he also provided four aces.
Velez added to his awards-filled season with his fifth CCAC Defender of the Week award. The junior libero averaged 3.0 digs per set, while being perfect on 34 reception attempts.
Velez delivered double-figure dig counts in each of his first two matches of the week, a 3-0 victory over Judson University last Tuesday and the win versus Lourdes on Saturday, with 13 and 10, respectively. He registered 12 and 15 reception in those same two matches.
For the sixth time in nine weeks, Daniels' name came up as the CCAC Setter of the Week winner. He averaged 11.7 assists per set topped by a 46-set match (15.3 avg.) against Lourdes.
The sophomore's other set numbers were 35 versus Judson and 24 against Viterbo.
Saint Xavier is 24-0 overall and 11-0 against the league.
