SAU's Bos, VU's Dugan, SXU's Daniels Capture Men's Volleyball Weekly Honors

CHICAGO --- St. Ambrose University's Michael Bos (Chicago, Ill.) and Viterbo University's Max Dugan (Stoughton, Wis.) each claimed their first Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Volleyball Player of the Week awards of the season, while Saint Xavier University's Cameron Daniels (Omaha, Neb.) earned his third in a row when the league office made the announcement on Tuesday afternoon.

Bos hit at a .553 clip and averaged 2.82 kills per set to collect CCAC Attacker of the Week recognition.  He also totaled five blocks over his three matches played.

The sophomore middle hitter never hit less than .500 in any of the three matches, topped by his .643 reading in a four-set league win over Trinity Christian College last Wednesday.  In that match, he produced 11 kills with only two errors in 14 chances.

Bos also had 14 kills and three blocks in a five-set conference win over Viterbo last Monday.

The two wins in three matches on the week put St. Ambrose at 9-8 overall and 2-0 in CCAC play.

Dugan registered a .957 reception percentage and averaged 3.44 digs per set to net CCAC Defender of the Week accolades.  He rang up double figures in digs in three of the four matches that he appeared in last week, while totaling 110 passes in 115 attempts (.957).

The sophomore defensive specialist's top performance came on Saturday in a five-set loss to Trinity Christian, where he recorded 20 digs and 38 receptions in 39 attempts.  He also had 16 digs and 36 receptions with only three errors in a five-set defeat against St. Ambrose last Monday.

Dugan added 11 digs, seven kills and 22 passes in a three-set loss to University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Saturday.

Viterbo is 2-13 overall and 0-3 in league play to begin the season.

Daniels hit the trifecta with his third straight CCAC Setter of the Week award after averaging 9.8 assists per set to go along with a 2.2 digs average and five blocks in two league victories.

The sophomore totaled 30 assists, five digs and all five of his blocks on the week in a three-set win versus Trinity Christian last Monday.  He followed that up with 29 assists and eight digs in another straight-set victory on Saturday, this time against Judson University.

The No. 2-ranked Cougars kept their perfect record intact at 13-0, including four league wins.
