
Olivet Nazarene Matches Indoor T&F Title With Outdoor Crown
JOLIET, Ill. --- Olivet Nazarene University has matched its 2025 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's indoor track & field championship with the outdoor title, which the Tigers gained on Saturday night at Joliet Memorial Stadium.
Aided by its eight event titles, ONU totaled 262 points to claim the championship by 47 points over St. Ambrose University, which recorded 215 points and five first-place finishes. Rounding out the Top 3 was Saint Xavier University with 153 points and seven event crowns.
University of St. Francis secured the other first-place finish as part of its 43-point total.
Meet trophies went to a trio of Tigers in Joseph Randle, Kyle Rago and Zontavius Johnson. Randle was named the Outstanding Track Event Performer at the meet after establishing a pair of new conference records with his two first-place efforts.
Those marks came in both the 100- (10.39 seconds) and 200-meter races (20.39). He also served as the anchor for the Tigers' first-place 4x100-meter relay team (41.07 seconds).
Rago, meanwhile, was honored as the CCAC Coach of the Year, with sprints and hurdles coach Johnson being recognized as the CCAC Assistant Coach of the Year.
The other top individual awards went to St. Ambrose University's Ben Wilson and Saint Xavier University's Ayobami Arokoyo.
Johnson was named the CCAC Most Valuable Meet Athlete after scoring the most points over the two-day event. He totaled 25 points individually with another ten points coming as part of SAU's first-place 4x400-meter finisher (3:23.46).
Johnson won the 400-meter hurdles (54.34 seconds), while placing second in the 100-meter hurdles (15.09), third in the 400-meter race (48.98) and eighth in the 200-meter dash (26.43).
Arokoyo won each of the two events that he competed in to gain CCAC Outstanding Field Event Performer honors. He posted a distance of 15.64 meters in the shot put and 54.69 meters in the discus.
