SAU's Saloninas, Reemtsma Collect Men's T&F Weekly Awards

CHICAGO --- St. Ambrose University's Mick Saloninas (Downers Grove, Ill.) has repeated as the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, while teammate Will Reemtsma (Davenport, Iowa) claimed his first CCAC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week award this season, the league office announced on Wednesday.

Reemtsma won the 400-meter hurdle event at the Concordia University (Neb.) Invitational on Saturday, defeating 24 other challengers. His 52.55-second finish was an "A" standard mark and currently ranks as the second-fastest time in the NAIA this spring.

The junior also competed in the 110-meter hurdles, where he recorded a time of 16.06 seconds.

Saloninas authored a pair of personal-best efforts at the same Concordia Invitational. His throw of 57 feet, 0.75 inches in the shot put was an "A" mark that enabled him to finish second in a field of 36 participants. It was also the second-longest throw of the NAIA season.

In his other competition, the junior placed third in the discus, where he recorded a distance of 153-8.
